Walking into an underground record store in the East Village (NYC) and hearing "The Big Dipper" on Fila Brazillia's Black Market Gardening CD, instantly made me a fan of their music. While I don't consider Fila Brazillia's music to be limited to Acid Jazz, all of the tracks on this CD have a jazzy, yet eclectic sound that is almost indescribable. "The Big Dipper" has got to be one of the best Acid Jazz tracks that I have ever heard. I purchased the Black Market Gardening CD in 1997 - a time when Fila Brazillia wasn't as "mainstream", since then, I have bought a few more of their CDs, but in my opinion this CD is one of their best works.

Cup of Tea records have been releasing quality tracks of slo-mo beat excursions and weirdelic sound collages in the time from 1995 to 1999. The label, founded by Pip Diaz, started with the release of "The Mudskipper EP" by a band called Junkwaffel, remixed by Bristol royalty Portishead.

Recorded for £18,000, Sinking stands as one of the few albums of the '90s that truly captures the epic drift of the dance scene's biblical highs and lows, songs of euphoria, oppression and claustrophobia, driven by the hypnotic melancholy PiL riffs of multi-instrumentalist and fellow Weatherall collaborator, Gary Burns.

Dark Entries and Captured Tracks have teamed up to re-issue the debut album Flesh by Jeff &Jane Hudson expanded with an extra LP of singles and EP material. Jeff & Jane Hudson are a husband/wife duo from Boston who got their start in the art punk band The Rentals in 1977. The Rentals broke up in 1980 and Jeff & Jane relocated to Manhattan where they opened for Suicide and quickly signed with No Wave label Lust/Unlust. Their first single No Clubs was released in late 1980 and showcased a lo-fi avant garde all synthesizer band. The World Trade EP came next in 1981, expanding their brand of post-nuclear electronic pop. Their vocals qualities were distinct; Jeff quivery and drug-addled while Jane more detached and icy.

Selbstportrait - Vol. II is the fourth solo album by German keyboardist Hans-Joachim Roedelius, best known for his work with Cluster, Harmonia and Aquarello. The title is German for "Self Portrait - Vol. II", a title which clearly reflects the gentle, introspective nature of this album of ambient or New Age music. It is the second of seven albums in Roedelius' Selbsportrait series of recordings. The album is subtitled "Freundliche Musik", German for "Friendly Music".

It has been 13 years since Should's last album proper, the complex shoegaze/postrock haze of 1998's Feed Like Fishes.

While much time has passed, the core elements of Should have not wavered: the ultra-sweet male/female vocal melodies, the penchant for the unexpected, and the ability to find beauty in the minimal.

The band's immaculately crafted third album, Like a Fire Without Sound, infuses the pop sensibilities of Eno and Yo La Tengo while maintaining the personal eccentricities and atmospheric flourishes that have always set Should apart.

Feed Like Fishes is Should's first full-length record — an album of noisy, sedate, and minimal pop songs. Falling somewhere between shoegazer, slowcore, and postrock, Feed Like Fishes is a wonderfully complicated record that echoes the sounds of Yo La Tengo, Slowdive, Bedhead, and Galaxie 500. The album also includes Should's take on The Wedding Present song "Spangle."

Words On Music is proud to re-release Should's classic 1995 American shoegaze CD-EP A Folding Sieve. This reissue doubles the number of tracks of the original album (which was released on Austin Texas' ND record label under their former name shiFt). Added to this album are both tracks from the 1997 7" single on ND that featured Should's cover of the Jean Paul Sartre Experience song "Own Two Feet," a cover of the 18th Dye song "Merger," and four unreleased songs recorded in 1995 and 1996.
