Crooneres Decadentes was formed in April 2009 in the city of Petrolina, State Of Pernambuco, Located in the northeast of Brazil by Raoni Santos, who is the only member of the band. No one knows for sure what their sound mixes, because we are in a time that we hear different musical styles, but you can tell the band is influenced by Shoegaze, Grunge and Alternative Rock as well as the tranquility of Bossa Nova. The letters come from loose sentences; the listener put them together and draw your own sense, the more different interpretations, the better. The name comes from the discovery of one of the goals that João Gilberto had to move to Rio de Janeiro: He wanted to be a Crooner, like Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. In September 2009, the band released their first demo, “Variante”, an EP recorded at home with two anti-ingredients ": a sound card on-board and a common microphone. Download.

I made a reference to the Creation band Pacific the other day and I received an e-mail asking who they were. Unfortunately there’s not a lot written about Pacific on the web. The band is a bit of a mystery, just crediting the song writing to Denniss. They released two singles “Sea Of Sand” (1988) and “Shrift” (1989) and the album “Inference” (1990) compiling those singles. They’re also on the very rare “Sugar” flexi with My Bloody Valentine. All Pacific stuff is highly recommended and worth seeking out. Their 12″ sleeves are really gorgeous. I think they were done by Chromatic Design which has designed most of my favorite Creation sleeve artwork. Download.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a 1961 American film starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, and featuring Patricia Neal, Buddy Ebsen, Martin Balsam, and Mickey Rooney. The film was directed by Blake Edwards and released by Paramount Pictures. It was loosely based on the novella of the same name by Truman Capote.

Hepburn's portrayal of Holly Golightly as the naïve, eccentric gold digger is generally considered to be the actress's most memorable and identifiable role. She herself regarded it as one of her most challenging roles, since she was an introvert required to play an extrovert. Hepburn's performance of "Moon River" helped composer Henry Mancini and lyricist Johnny Mercer win an Oscar for Best Song. Download.

Far And Away was Friends' second single, released in 12" format only. The title track is one of the band's most popular songs both live and broadcast, being a classic piece of romantic, acoustic pop with a nostalgic feel. Burning Bridges and Over And Over are in a harder, almost gothic mould with choruses of brass blasts alternating with vocals. The End Of The Affair is an elegiac acoustic number featuring mainly voice and acoustic guitar. Like the first album Let's Get Away From It All, Far And Away is the definitive sound of early Friends from the late 80s. Download.

Hey, now just get in
And close the door
And put your foot down
You know, I like this suburb we're going through
And I've been around here many times before
When I was young we were gonna move out this way
For the clean air, healthy, you know
Away from the factories and the smoke
I like that shop, too
You can get anything there
So just get in
And we'll go for a ride

This one is on my list of all time favorite recordings. Music Emporium's sole full length release, 1969's self-titled venture, is perhaps the best unknown album of all time? It is a psychedelic recording that is dripping with gothic sensibilities of the early 1980's. Proving once again there is nothing new under the sun. Download.
